SPACE ID integrates with MetaMask Snaps
Singapore City, Singapore, October 21st, 2024, Chainwire
Digital identity giant teams up with web3 wallet leader to make crypto transactions easier and safer
SPACE ID, an interoperable web3 domain name service, is pleased to announce the launch of the SPACE ID web3 Domain Snap – an integration with MetaMask that will make transactions on all EVM-compatible chains as easy as sending a Telegram message.
This industry-leading integration will allow SPACE ID users to replace all their public wallet addresses with a single, secure, and customizable handle when making transactions on MetaMask. This means that, rather than a 42-character muddle of letters and numbers – where one slip means a total loss of funds – SPACE ID users need only enter a simple username to send crypto.
From today, Monday, October 21, MetaMask users can register their custom SPACE ID domain names and map those to all their crypto public addresses. As part of the launch, SPACE ID is running a giveaway campaign on Galxe, where users can receive $5 gift cards for free domain names and share in a prize pool worth up to $10,000 in $ID tokens.
SPACE ID Snaps will work with any EVM-compatible chain, allowing users to organize and store their handles for multiple chains in one wallet. The SPACE ID Handle can fully replace clunky crypto addresses for sending and receiving crypto, ensuring secure and verifiable transactions.
According to the team, SPACE ID Snaps solves two of the most pressing issues in the web3 space today: a cumbersome user experience and a lack of security. With crypto losses due to hacks already close to $2 billion since January, according to CertiK, the security of transactions is of huge importance. Snaps eliminates the risk of mistakes and reduces the chance of falling victim to mirroring scams to a minimum.
Harrison Seletsky, Director of Business Development at SPACE ID, says: “We’re thrilled to bring SPACE ID Snaps to the MetaMask community. This integration will make managing digital assets more secure and user-friendly, aligning perfectly with our mission to simplify web3 interactions.”
Christian Montoya, Product Lead, Developer Innovation at MetaMask, adds: “Snaps like SPACE ID are making it easier and safer for MetaMask users to send and receive crypto on any EVM-compatible chain. This launch reflects a shared vision to make web3 simpler and more intuitive for everyone.”
