Cregis Partners with Remi Technology to Build Infrastructure for Compliant Digital Asset Network
Hong Kong, China, October 29th, 2026, Chainwire
Cregis, an enterprise digital asset payments and custody infrastructure provider, has partnered with Remi Technology to provide underlying security and infrastructure for Remi’s digital asset network serving regulated financial institutions. The partnership aims to help banks, payment service providers and foreign exchanges conduct cross-border digital asset transactions more efficiently and in line with regulatory requirements.
Headquartered in Singapore, Remi Technology is a fintech infrastructure provider that has a strategic partnership with Bison Bank, a licensed bank in Portugal. Remi is developing a digital asset network connecting regulated financial institutions, with capabilities including structured data exchange, transaction information transfer, status tracking, reconciliation and compliance coordination.
Within the partnership, Bison Bank provides the banking foundation and regulated operating environment, Remi connects participating institutions and coordinates settlement workflows, and Cregis supplies the underlying digital asset security and management infrastructure.
“Once digital assets enter regulated financial markets, institutions need more than secure ways to hold and transfer assets. They also need to bring those activities within their existing frameworks for access control, risk management and governance,” said Shawn Yan, CEO of Cregis. “Our work with Remi is focused on making digital asset infrastructure better suited to the operational requirements of financial institutions.”
Bison Bank has continued to expand its digital asset business. In May 2026, it launched EUB and USB, euro- and US dollar-linked electronic money tokens, respectively, for approved institutional clients, supporting digital asset transfers and settlement. The tokens provide a practical use case for digital assets within a regulated banking environment and form part of the broader collaboration between Remi and Bison Bank.
“Cross-border digital asset settlement requires reliable technical connectivity, a sound banking foundation and robust security,” said Sam Su, CEO of Remi Technology. “Our strategic partnership with Bison Bank provides the banking and institutional framework, while Cregis brings the underlying digital asset security capabilities. Each partner contributes a distinct part of the infrastructure needed to serve regulated financial institutions.”
As financial institutions explore blockchain applications in payments and asset management, infrastructure that connects different institutions is becoming increasingly important. Estimates from McKinsey and Artemis put actual stablecoin payment volume at approximately $390 billion in 2025, including around $226 billion in business-to-business (B2B) payments. As digital assets move further into real-world financial operations, institutions are placing greater demands on custody, security, compliance and data exchange, as well as on how these capabilities integrate with existing financial systems.
Remi’s network supports structured data exchange, know-your-customer and anti-money laundering (KYC/AML) processes, transaction screening, the Travel Rule and compliance monitoring. Cregis provides digital asset infrastructure spanning wallets, payments and fund flow management, and institutional custody, supported by technologies including multi-party computation (MPC), hardware security modules (HSMs) and trusted execution environments (TEEs).
Over the past nine years, Cregis has helped more than 4,000 businesses across over 50 countries and regions build and operate digital asset businesses. In 2025, it introduced Trust Vault, expanding its institutional custody and asset governance capabilities. The solution supports the secure storage, management and use of digital assets, including stablecoins, while helping businesses strengthen access controls, risk management and compliance governance.
“Broader adoption of digital assets in financial services will depend on how well they fit into the way institutions already operate,” Yan added. “Our focus is on building the security, asset management and operational capabilities that institutions need to use digital assets with confidence as their businesses evolve.”
