COINPAYMENTS founder Alex Alexandrov appointed Group CEO as company strengthens executive team

COINPAYMENTS, the global digital assets payments infrastructure provider, has announced the appointment of founder Alex Alexandrov as Group CEO. Alexandrov founded the company in 2013 and has served as Chairman for much of its growth.
Since its launch, COINPAYMENTS has processed more than $50 billion in transaction volume, enabled digital-asset payments for over 250,000 merchants and served more than one million wallet users worldwide.
The appointment comes alongside a series of senior hires marking a new phase of growth and market expansion:
- Simon Dewsbury, Group Chief Financial Officer, brings more than 15 years’ experience across traditional financial services, regulatory compliance and capital strategy.
- Nigel Brook-Walters, Group Chief Revenue Officer, joins with more than 25 years’ experience across wealth and asset management, financial services and strategic partnerships, most recently as Markets Lead for Wealth and Asset Management at KPMG.
- Stacy Belf, Head of Sales, North America, joins following an 11-year tenure at State Street.
Alexandrov succeeds Ali Rafi, who is now pursuing new opportunities having successfully utilised his expertise across fintech, blockchain and motorsport to strengthen COINPAYMENTS’ global position.
