Alex Miclaus Unveils ORCA, the AI Infrastructure Layer for Prediction Markets
New York, New York, October 1st, 2026, Chainwire
Alex Miclaus, Chief Executive Officer of ORCA, today unveiled ORCA, an AI infrastructure layer built to connect the fragmented prediction market ecosystem through autonomous agents, real time market intelligence and transparent onchain execution. The evolution of every emerging industry follows a familiar pattern. Innovation captures attention first, adoption follows, and eventually the conversation shifts toward infrastructure. Digital payments required payment networks. E-commerce depended on logistics systems. Cloud computing transformed only after scalable infrastructure made widespread adoption possible. Prediction markets appear to be approaching the same moment.
Over the past few years, the sector has experienced remarkable growth. Platforms allowing users to forecast elections, macroeconomic events, sporting competitions and technological developments have attracted billions of dollars in trading activity, transforming what was once considered a niche blockchain application into an increasingly important component of decentralized finance. Yet despite rapid expansion, the ecosystem remains highly fragmented. Identical events are frequently priced differently across independent platforms, exposing structural inefficiencies that traditional trading approaches often fail to address.
While many companies are competing to build larger prediction markets or more sophisticated forecasting tools, Alex Miclaus believes the industry’s future will be determined by something less visible but far more important.
Infrastructure
As Chief Executive Officer of ORCA AI Agent, Alex is building an AI-native infrastructure platform designed not to predict the future, but to improve how prediction markets operate. Rather than asking users to speculate on outcomes, ORCA focuses on connecting fragmented markets through intelligent automation, structured analysis, and transparent execution.
“We believe prediction markets have already proven their value,” Alex explains. “The next challenge is helping those markets become more efficient.”
It Is a Philosophy That Reflects His Own Professional Journey
Unlike many founders entering blockchain from finance or software engineering, Alex began his career in design. Holding a Master’s degree in Industrial and Product Design, he developed a systems-oriented approach that emphasized solving complex problems rather than simply creating attractive products. Throughout his career, design became less about visual aesthetics and more about understanding how individual components interact within larger ecosystems.
That Perspective Would Eventually Define His Leadership Style
Before joining DTC Group, Alex worked as an independent creative designer, contributing visual design work to Shiba Inu during its early growth phase. As one of the world’s most recognized memecoin projects—later reaching the Top 10 cryptocurrencies by market capitalization—Shiba Inu provided Alex with firsthand exposure to decentralized communities, viral adoption, and the rapidly evolving Web3 ecosystem. Working alongside one of crypto’s fastest-growing communities gave him valuable insight into how strong branding, engaged communities, and decentralized networks could rapidly accelerate global adoption. This early experience shaped his understanding of blockchain innovation and laid the foundation for his transition into the broader Web3 industry.
He later joined DTC Group as Senior Art Director, where he expanded his experience leading creative direction for large-scale digital brands before co-founding Lemoons, a Web3 creative agency supporting blockchain startups across Ethereum, Solana, BNB Chain and Base. Working across more than thirty blockchain projects exposed him to nearly every stage of Web3 product development, from branding and user experience to ecosystem strategy and product architecture. More importantly, it revealed a recurring pattern. Blockchain applications continued to evolve at remarkable speed, yet the infrastructure supporting them often remained fragmented. Products were becoming increasingly sophisticated, while the systems connecting liquidity, markets and users struggled to keep pace.
Rather than viewing this as a limitation, Alex saw an opportunity. “The biggest breakthroughs usually happen beneath the surface,” he says. “People remember the applications they use every day, but industries are ultimately transformed by the infrastructure that makes those applications possible.”
That Realization Became the Starting Point for ORCA
Rather than building another trading platform, Alex envisioned an intelligent infrastructure layer capable of supporting the growing prediction market ecosystem. The company’s objective is not to replace existing platforms, but to strengthen the way they function by identifying structural inefficiencies, coordinating intelligent execution and improving overall market efficiency.
At the center of ORCA’s technology is the OpenClaw Framework, an AI-powered intelligence engine responsible for continuously monitoring fragmented prediction markets, aggregating live market data and evaluating opportunities through confidence-based analysis. Instead of responding to every market movement, the framework is designed to filter information before execution, allowing the system to prioritize disciplined decision-making over constant activity.
For Alex, artificial intelligence should never exist simply for automation. “Technology shouldn’t just make decisions faster,” he says. “It should make better decisions.” This philosophy extends beyond the company’s technology and into its broader vision for the future of decentralized finance.
Alex believes prediction markets will continue expanding far beyond politics and sports. As governments, institutions and businesses increasingly recognize the value of collective intelligence and probabilistic forecasting, prediction markets could become an important mechanism for understanding everything from economic indicators to real-world events.
Such growth, however, will require infrastructure capable of supporting larger volumes of information, greater interoperability and higher standards of transparency. That is where ORCA intends to position itself. Rather than competing for market share as another application within the ecosystem, the company aims to become an underlying intelligence layer that enables prediction markets to operate more efficiently through AI, blockchain and decentralized infrastructure.
Its mission is built around creating intelligent systems that improve market efficiency while preserving transparency and user control. By combining real-time market intelligence, AI-native automation and blockchain verification, ORCA seeks to simplify participation without compromising decentralization. Looking ahead, Alex sees ORCA evolving alongside the broader Web3 ecosystem. The company’s roadmap includes expanding cross-market connectivity, strengthening AI-driven infrastructure and supporting an increasingly diverse prediction market landscape as adoption continues to accelerate worldwide.
For him, success is not measured simply by the growth of a single company. It is measured by contributing to the maturity of an entire industry. “The companies that leave the greatest impact are often those people never see,” Alex says. “Infrastructure doesn’t always receive the attention, but it enables everything else.” As artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and decentralized finance continue to converge, prediction markets are entering a new stage of development. Whether ORCA ultimately becomes one of the defining infrastructure providers of this emerging sector will depend on how the market evolves in the years ahead.
But for Alex Miclaus, the objective has never been to build another Web3 product. It has always been to build the systems that help the next generation of markets work better
