Tradewind Recruitment Concludes National Educator Retention Survey
London, United Kingdom, March 30th, 2026, Chainwire
Tradewind Recruitment has completed a national survey on educator retention, gathering insights from teachers and school leaders across the UK on the pressures, challenges and workload for educators, and the retention strategies leaders are putting in place to retain top teaching talent. Findings from the survey are due to be published in April 2026.
Tradewind Recruitment, which this year marks its 25th anniversary as one of the UK’s most established education recruitment agencies, conducted the educator retention survey as part of a commitment to support schools in addressing one of the sector’s most pressing challenges. The survey, which closed on 17th March 2026, invited educators and school leaders nationwide to share their experiences of the specific factors that influence staff retention.
Responses are now being compiled into a dedicated report, which Tradewind will share with schools and education stakeholders to inform and strengthen retention strategies across the sector. All responses were collected anonymously, with participants entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £250 voucher for themselves or their school.
The survey is the first of its kind from Tradewind, forming part of their broader period of growth. In 2025, the agency opened new offices in Durham, Cornwall, and Northampton, further extending its regional reach and reinforcing its commitment to local, specialist support across the UK. The company now operates from 17 offices nationwide, having grown from a single London base established in 2001.
Tradewind’s growth has also extended internationally, with Tradewind Subs, a dedicated substitute teacher agency, now completing its first full year of operation in Los Angeles, California.
Tradewind Recruitment also recently announced a partnership with andResilience, a specialist organisation focused on embedding resilience at the centre of mental health support in schools, reflecting a broader strategic focus on educator and pupil wellbeing.
The educator retention report will be published in the coming weeks. Senior leaders at schools and educators can download the report and learn more about Tradewind Recruitment’s services at www.twrecruitment.com.
