TRS Workforce Solutions Launches Project Hiring Service
London, United Kingdom, March 27th, 2026, Chainwire
TRS Workforce Solutions (TRS WFS) has launched a dedicated project hiring service that enables global energy and infrastructure companies to mobilise specialist contract teams for large-scale capital programmes within weeks rather than months.
Engineering, energy, and infrastructure organisations face 3 compounding workforce challenges: a widening skills gap as experienced engineers retire, surging demand from global infrastructure investment and energy transition programmes, and project timelines that leave no room for recruitment cycles lasting several months. Traditional permanent hiring models are unable to meet these demands. The new service addresses all 3 by assembling specialist contractor teams aligned to specific project lifecycles and requirements.
The project hiring service covers 3 core capabilities: rapid team assembly using specialist contractor networks, flexible workforce scaling as project phases evolve, and access to global talent pools across multiple geographies. TRS WFS manages programme design, supplier coordination, and technology platform implementation on behalf of clients.
“Project hiring has shifted from a tactical solution to a strategic capability,” said Mike Innes, Managing Director at TRS Workforce Solutions. “Organisations delivering complex infrastructure or energy projects need flexible access to specialised talent at scale. This service gives them a structured, commercially rational way to achieve that, without the cost of carrying niche specialists as permanent employees.”
The service launch follows a successful managed service provider (MSP) programme deployed for SABIC, one of the world’s largest petrochemical manufacturers, across multiple North American sites in 2022. TRS WFS completed the contractor migration, governance setup, and communications programme in 2 phases without disrupting ongoing operations.
A key element of the programme was implementing SAP Fieldglass, a vendor management system for external workforce oversight. TRS WFS completed the implementation in 12 weeks — half the typical 24-week timeline for deployments of that scale. The system automated timesheet, expense, and invoice processing and went live on schedule without disrupting weekly payroll.
Global infrastructure investment remains strong, with governments and private investors accelerating projects across energy transition, transportation, and industrial manufacturing. Digital workforce platforms and rising global talent mobility make large contractor populations increasingly manageable across multiple geographies. TRS WFS is positioned to support organisations navigating this environment with a structured project hiring capability.
