Night Spawn, an immersive horror survival game, has joined the Dream Catalyst accelerator, a $10 million initiative from Somnia and Uprising Labs that supports studios building the next generation of Web3-native games.
Night Spawn thrusts players into intense cooperative gameplay, forcing them to work together under relentless pressure to solve challenging puzzles while evading supernatural predators. Inspired by horror classics like An American Werewolf in London and 30 Days of Night, as well as iconic games such as Dead by Daylight and The Outlast Trials, Night Spawn combines logic-focused puzzles with dynamic, adrenaline-pumping action.
The game unfolds in a world where ancient folklore creatures have resurfaced. Players explore shifting locations, from crumbling police stations to eerie, fog-drenched villages. Each match features random objectives, unique enemy behaviors, and evolving challenges, ensuring no two games are the same. The Tarot Card system spices up each match by letting players introduce new modifiers, spawning extra monsters, or unlocking high-stakes side missions with rare rewards.
The story centers on the re-emergence of the Night Spawn: creatures of myth returning to the modern world, from a demonic puppeteer in the Carpathians to a vampiric lord haunting Alaska. Players join the Hollow Gate Society, an organization determined to uncover and survive this new threat.
Night Spawn will be integrated with Somnia’s high-performance Layer 1 blockchain, which delivers over 1 million transactions per second, sub-second finality, and sub-cent fees. This enables real-time multiplayer coordination, player-owned assets, and persistent world state updates without the technical limitations of traditional blockchains.
