US President Donald Trump created a cryptocurrency working group to propose new regulations of the asset class and explore the possibility of a national crypto stockpile, effectively overhauling US policy on digital assets. He also ordered the protection of banking services for crypto companies in light of claims that regulators had mandated lenders cut these companies off from services. He banned the creation of central bank digital currencies, which would have competed with cryptocurrencies.
