Polkadot Blockchain Academy Invites Applicants to Swiss Campus for Advanced Developer Course
Switzerland, Lucerne, December 2nd, 2024, Chainwire
Polkadot Blockchain Academy (PBA) has announced that it is returning to Europe to host a new developer course in Switzerland. Cohort 6 of PBA Campus will be held at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, commencing in March 2025.
Cohort 6 marks the first time Polkadot Blockchain Academy has been hosted in Europe in more than two years. Classes will be held at Lucerne University’s campus in partnership with their new institute for blockchain research. The course, which lasts for almost three weeks, will teach developers practical skills for building with Polkadot and harnessing blockchain technology to create new web3 solutions.
A number of leading Polkadot figures including Dr. Gavin Wood will be present at Cohort 6 to teach core modules. These will give students a well-rounded blockchain education and furnish them with knowledge towards becoming the next generation of blockchain engineering thought leaders and innovators.
While the course content is focused on Polkadot’s tech stack, PBA is designed for blockchain developers working across a range of ecosystems and with diverse experience. It’s targeted at developers either already in blockchain or web2 developers considering making the leap to web3.
Demand is expected to be high for the European cohort of PBA, which requires them to get through a significant selection process. Applicants need to pass a multiple choice exam demonstrating their knowledge of blockchain fundamentals. PBA-X, the online school recently launched by Polkadot Blockchain Academy, can provide less experienced developers with the requisite knowledge to pass the exam. A subsequent programming assignment and interview must be successfully navigated to gain entry.
Around 100 developers are expected to be accepted for Cohort 6 in Lucerne, with the Polkadot Treasury covering all course fees, accommodation and half board. For the first time, there will be two technical tracks on offer, the established protocol, on chain track and the Dapps, off chain track. Set to debut at Lucerne, this track will equip students with the skills to navigate the evolving landscape of decentralized applications and the tools supporting them.
Polkadot Blockchain Academy’s Lucerne cohort will give developers an opportunity to improve their skills and knowledge, meet like-minded builders, and advance their career within the industry. Parity Technologies, the lead developer of Polkadot, as well as Web3 Foundation and Polkadot Fellows will be among the organisations interested in the progress of graduates, participants can use this opportunity as a springboard to advancing their web3 career and discovering new opportunities as Polkadot based teams hire in 2025.
