Launching with Cortex, a $100M Brain-Inspired Robotics Model, ASI Train Empowers Decentralized AI Innovation and Ownership
The ASI Alliance has unveiled ASI: Train, an ambitious initiative dedicated to developing specialized foundational AI models designed to tackle complex, industry-specific challenges across science, technology and medical verticals. Launching with ‘Cortex’, a brain-inspired robotics model, ASI: Train leverages a decentralized framework to empower researchers, investors, and community members to support AI development and share in its success.
Large Language Models (LLMs), such as OpenAI’s GPT series and Google’s Gemini, have transformed natural language processing and general AI applications. However, their generalist nature faces limitations in scalability, contextual precision, and efficiency, especially for highly specialized tasks and fields. As industries demand tailored solutions for complex challenges, general-purpose LLMs often fall short in delivering the required quality, speed, and domain relevance.
Designed to solve complex problems in industries like robotics, biotechnology, and physics, ASI: Train models leverage cognitive search for accurate, context-aware information retrieval and synthesis. This domain-specific approach offers clear advantages over generalist LLMs, driving breakthroughs by addressing industry challenges with unmatched precision, efficiency, and relevance.
“ASI: Train is a transformative step towards Artificial Superintelligence. By combining domain-specific models like ‘Cortex’ with decentralized ownership, we’re creating a DeSci ecosystem where individuals support groundbreaking technology and share value creation,” said Humayun Sheikh, CEO of Fetch.ai and chairman of the ASI Alliance. “ This is the future of inclusive, sustainable AI development, and we’re thrilled to have our community at the forefront of this journey.”
By staking FET tokens to support AI models like Cortex, users will be able to own these valuable assets under a DAO-like structure which will become tradable in the secondary markets, similar to an AI startup. These features enable users to derive tangible value from AI models while strengthening the economic potential of FET.
Cortex, the first in a lineup of foundational models ASI: Train is planning to launch, is an advanced brain-inspired robotics model that draws on principles from neuroscience to enhance robotic capabilities. By mimicking neural processing, Cortex enables robotic systems to learn, adapt, and perform complex tasks in industries such as manufacturing, mining, warehousing and autonomous delivery.
The model is set to begin its training in December, with a rigorous process that will span approximately 12-14 weeks and will consume substantial GPU compute. During this period, Cortex will undergo extensive training to refine its capabilities. Additionally, staking opportunities will open up for investors around mid-December, allowing participants to engage in the growth and success of this cutting-edge technology. The initiative already has customers of inference which include well known educational institutions, warehousing companies, robotics startups and industrial partners. The revenue from the Cortex model is estimated to be $10m+ per annum which will be partly used for ‘earn and burn’, putting the value of such a model at roughly $100m+.
The train product demonstrates the full functionality of the ASI tech stack which includes data privacy tools, ML and compute pipeline, model training and inference serving via agents.
Looking ahead, the Alliance will expand ASI: Train’s portfolio with additional AI models in biotechnology, quantum technology, space technology, material science and other sectors, each presenting similar opportunities for token holders to benefit from transformative AI ownership. These models will address industry-specific challenges with the precision and efficiency that only domain-specialized foundational models can achieve.
About The Artificial Superintelligence Alliance
The Artificial Super Intelligence (ASI) Alliance is a collective formed by Fetch.ai, SingularityNET (SNET), Ocean Protocol and CUDOS. As the largest open-sourced, independent entity in decentralized AI research and development, this alliance aims to accelerate the advancement of decentralized Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and, ultimately, Artificial Superintelligence (ASI).
