BNB Chain Increases Growth And Project Success: Underpins Launch of Smart And Fully On-Chain Applications

BNB Chain, the community-driven blockchain ecosystem that includes the world’s largest smart contract blockchain, today announced the launch of its quarter 1 (Q1) installment of its 2024 hackathon program. Poised to increase growth and the success of projects in its ecosystem, the BNB Chain Q1 hackathon focuses on building smart and fully on-chain applications.
BNB Chain has experienced recent significant growth, with BNB Smart Chain (BSC) and opBNB emerging as two of the top three fastest-growing chains. This not only signaled an upward trend in user adoption but also shed light on the type of projects driving its growth including AI and GameFi.
With this in mind, coupled with the aim of accelerating Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Web3 development, the hackathon tracks span multiple sectors across DePin, DeSoc, DeSci and Gaming and Infrastructure. The 2024 hackathon also promises additional challenges from our hackathon partners in Q1 to broaden the scope for creativity and innovation.
During the first quarter of the 2024 hackathon, participants will have access to a $60,000 funding pool. Winners will also receive an extensive Kickstart package worth $300,000 — $50,000 each — including credits from AWS, Google Cloud, and other essential development tools. Extra Rewards will be available from the sponsor track where participants can seek to increase their funding with an additional prize pool up to $115,000. Additionally, winners will be eligible for BNB Chain support for up to one month post-event, along with a dedicated technical support group and an opportunity to interview with MVB.
To drive blockchain innovation and advancements across the industry, a $10,000 prize pool will be distributed to all developers contributing to the BNB Chain ecosystem who enter with a qualifying submission.

Registrations for the hackathon open from January 18th to February 1st, 2024, with workshops scheduled for January 18th, 19th, 22nd, 24th, 29th, 31st, and February 1st, 2024. The submission period is from February 8th to 22nd, 2024, and winners will be announced on March 1st, 2024.
